HutchBSR - History

HUTCHBSR has a rich background in the racing and high performance business. Its origin traces back to not one, but two companies that are considered pioneers in the modern racing business.

Dick Hutcherson, a top driver in the mid-west and NASCAR’s Grand National circuit in the 1950’s and 1960’s, teamed with Eddie Pagan, a west coast racer who came east to race NASCAR, to start Hutcherson-Pagan Enterprises in 1971. The initial business focused on chassis building. Later, Dick’s brother Ron Hutcherson, another top NASCAR competitor, joined the company and headed up activity to sell parts to racers and race teams. The parts business expanded to include trackside sales from well stocked trailers.

In August, 1982, Butch Stevens and Bill Seifert, both racing veterans also saw a need for an auto racing parts business that not only served the ever-growing number of teams building shops in the Charlotte, NC, area but also traveled the racing circuits along with the racing teams. The business grew from the back of a horse trailer to tractor trailer trackside service vehicles over the years. A branch in Mooresville was opened in 1995, and a 35,000 square foot building in Concord was built and opened in 2000.

In 2005 Clark Racing Partners acquired BSR. In 2008 Clark Racing Partners added Hutcherson-Pagan Enterprises and formed HUTCHBSR. The combination of the two great companies has produced one new This powerful combination, with its rich racing heritage, is a leader in the market for the hardcore parts top racers require!

HUTCHBSR operates stores in Charlotte, Concord and Mooresville, NC. Trackside service trucks follow NASCAR’s Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World truck series, ARCA, IMSA and Grand AM sports car races and many local short track events. A local route truck travels a weekly schedule in the greater Charlotte area.

The HUTCHBSR staff provides professional service as the exclusive distributor and service provider for Ingersoll Rand “Thunder guns” from the Concord store and at the Sprint Cup races. HUTCHBSR still manufactures chassis for many top racers. The staff includes experienced technicians to advise racers and teams with set up.
